Vegan Chipotle Burrito (& How to Eat Vegan at Chipotle)

Not gonna lie, I love Chipotle more than anyone should. And based on my current schedule, life, etc, I eat it quite often.. Lol

Love and convenience are why I eat it like 3-5 times per week.. Yep. I don’t even care.

But anyway, as a vegan, the options can seem quite limited. But I got you.

For starters, I’ll break down what is vegan at Chipotle, and then get into my personal favorite vegan chipotle burrito

VEGAN MENU ITEMS

  • Tortillas
  • Both rice options
  • Both bean options
  • Sofritas – made from tofu
  • Fajita veggies
  • All the salsas & corn
  • Guac
  • Lettuce – shocking
  • Greens mix
  • Chips
  • There is word that Chipotle is partnering with a plant-based meat company sooo potentially more options!

With all of these choices it’s not that hard to put together a pretty delicious and filling vegan Chipotle dish.

WHAT MY BURRITO LOOKS LIKE (+ MACROS)

As of writing this, I’ve been in a steady bulking phase for a few months. This, of course, means I get to eat more.

That’s the main reason why I’m going with the burrito – more cals. But bowls and tacos are great too.

Either way, my current burrito features:

    • Brown rice – fuck white rice, it has no fiber. Haha, just kidding, it’s still ok. But personally I try to get the more fibrous option when possible
    • Either of the beans – I often jump back and forth
    • Sofritas
    • Mild/tomato salsa
    • Guac
    • Lettuce

Every now and then I’ll also get the corn option. And I fuckin love their fajita veggies but about 8 times out of 10 their burrito wrapping skills are ass so I don’t wanna push it.

When I get bowls though, psh, just about every vegan option is going on that bitch.

BURRITO MACROS (via Chipotle nutrition calculator)

This beast comes out to roughly:

Cals: 1070

Fat: 49g

Carbs: 130g

Protein: 30g

A little higher on the fat content but it’s mostly healthy fats coming from the guac and sofritas.

Plus, as long as your total calories for the day are where they should be, fat or carb content in a particular food doesn’t matter in terms of weight loss or weight gain.

Anyway, there’s a little insight to eating vegan at Chipotle!
